Eyebrow Microblading is a procedure categorized as permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent.
Pigment vs. Ink.
Tattoo ink is used for eyebrow tattooing while microblading uses a specialized pigment. In contrast, microblading pigment is specifically designed to fade into a lighter version of the color used so the patient retains a natural appearance.
According to the professionals, microblading can last between 12 months and three years. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You’ll notice the color is very light the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it.
Unlike a regular tattoo, “microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool instead of a machine. Hair-like strokes are drawn with the tool to mimic natural hairs in your brows.
All in all, it seems microblading is more uncomfortable than painful, although this will of course depend on your pain threshold.
